On this particular morning, I was destined for Shepperton. It was a cold winter morning, and the fog was lying in the flats. Now I had seen this a LOT in my travels, but had never managed to capture a good shot of it. As I came over the hill just before Corop, I saw this and decided it was time to stop and take a few minutes to capture the golden moment.

Lake Cairn Curran

This is one of my all-time favourites. I got up early on a Saturday morning and headed down past Castlemaine to the lake to see what I could find. It was -3 degrees Celsius, so the camera setup was hard with cold hands. I managed to capture a few shots before the sun got too high and changed the look. From memory, this particular shot was a 3-minute exposure, and it looks great on my wall at 1.5m in width. If you like this or any of the other photos I have posted, check out my book!

Tawny Frog Mouth Owl and Baby

In our street, we have a lot of wildlife, some of which can cause a lot of damage to your vehicle (Kangaroos), and some are pretty harmless. Now we walk our dogs up and down the street, and during these walks we get to see a lot of the wildlife. The Tawny Frog Mouth Owls are one of our favourite visitors to the street. We see them all through Spring as they set up a very flimsy nest, raise chicks and then disappear. We then look out for them to see when they will reappear. I always try to get...

Dawn During COVID-19

This image is very special to me. During COVID 19 lockdowns most people stayed home and were faced with the burden of home isolation. I was fortunate enough to attend work every day I needed to (3 days of the week). Not one to miss an opportunity. I requested that I be able to take pictures. Now working at a secure test facility, this was an amazing opportunity. One Winter’s morning, I captured this picture of the constant velocity track with the fog lingering in the background. Now the lens ball is a unique item to photograph with as it flips the image (as light travels in straight lines). In this shot I sat the ball on the top of a sand dune as I looked out to sea. I took the shot so that the ball image was in full focus and the remainder of the shot was blurred but added detail.
