In our street, we have a lot of wildlife, some of which can cause a lot of damage to your vehicle (Kangaroos), and some are pretty harmless.
Now we walk our dogs up and down the street, and during these walks we get to see a lot of the wildlife. The Tawny Frog Mouth Owls are one of our favourite visitors to the street. We see them all through Spring as they set up a very flimsy nest, raise chicks and then disappear. We then look out for them to see when they will reappear. I always try to get a few shots as they are very unique in the way they try to hide themselves.
On this particular day, they were just staring at me, and it looked so different to anything else I have ever seen from them. Then one of the chicks popped up, and I got the shot. I’m very pleased with the shot, but I must say a lot of people tell me it is their favourite Christmas card shot.
